Tour De France 2017 Overall Standings Results after Stage 15: Mollema wins, Froome stays at yellow in an attacked laden day

Bauke Mollema captured the Stage 15 of the Tour de France while Chris Froome retained the yellow jersey.

After Chris Froome recaptured the yellow jersey from Fabio Aru in Stage 14, Team Sky returns to its old way of controling the race. It is expected that Team Sky leads the peloton to keep the yellow jersey. With a high pace to contain any planned attacks that an threat the yellow jersey, Team Sky will be vigilant.

Aru, Romain Bardet, Rigoberto Uran, Martin Daniel, Simon Yates and Nairo Quintana are the possible attackers of this stage as any of them will try to extricate from the peloton.

Stage 15 covers 189.5km travel by the riders from Laissac-Sévérac l’Église to Le Puy-en-Velay. This is a long route with a lot of climbing including the Col de Peyra Taillade where the place of the battle among the GC contenders. With 31km from the finish, this climb will probably determine the stage winner. It can also make or break some of the contenders as they will ascend, that only the strong men will be recognized.

Surely, some of the contenders will launch attacks just to make separation. Aru is just 18 seconds behind Froome while Bardet is behind only 23 seconds. Rigoberto looks for an opportunity also, just 29 seconds behind. Eight players are just separated by 2:22 seconds with seven stages left.

Tour de France stage 15 will start at 6:25 AM ET and with the live television viewing in the United States by NBCSN which will begin the coverage at 8:00 AM ET.
