Alab Philpinas Outscore Kaohsiung Truth to Marks Maiden Victory in ABL

 

Alab Philipinas marked its first ever win on Sunday 4th December 2016 in the year’s Asean Basketball League (ABL) by outscoring Kaohsiung Truth, 91-82. The match was held at Start Arena in Baliwag, Bulacan.

Last Week, Alab Pilipinas were defeated by Singapore Slingers at 71-66, when Ray Parks could score only 19 still highest among the team. As promised Parks Jr.  bounced back after their debuted loss in ABL 2016 and scored 30 under the nest.

30 points scored by 23-year-old Parks, totalled up with 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks that lead the Philippines to victory. Park is a two-time UAAP MVP out of National University has an average score of 24.5 points, 7 bounds, 4 assists and 2.5 blocks adding up in first two games.

Lawrence Domingo, an Asean import did his part by scoring 21 points while Seung Jun Lee, an Korean-American import had a double-double with 8 points and 12 rebounds for Alab Pilipinas.

Alab that was playing its first season in regional league pursuing most of the first half and wanted a late run sparked by Domingo to extract 42-41 lead at the halftime break. In the third quarter, Parks and Domingo increase their lead to 56-47.

Point guard Mikee Reyes from Former University of the Philippines made his debut for Kaohsiung Truth scoring 14 points. Wesley Hsu let Kaohsiung with 23 points, while Hall had 18 and Oliver notched 17 for Truth

Alab Pilipinas is currently at 3rd place behind undefeated Singapore Slingers (3-0) and Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions (2-0).
