Hotshots crush Phoenix, four-way tie for 5th Place

 

You need to be good at transition defense in order to beat Phoenix,  and Hotshots successfully did that!  Star went bonkers and crushed Phoenix at 123-79 taking a 2nd straight win in PBA Philippine Cup on Saturday held at Asia Arena Mall.

The Hotshots that improved to 2-2 after zero win in first two PBA games have now marched for second straight win that puts them to a four-way tie for 5th place to eight places among Blackwater, Talk N Text and Phoenix at 2-2.

Chito Victolero, the Star Hotshots head coach said –

“The players really committed to our defensive system.” “Right now, we’re having a great run, the players are having a good time.”

Victolero was still not totally satisfied with victory as he believes that the real test of team will the next two outings when the star clash with Rain or Shine on 18th December and Barangay Gienbra on 25th December.

Paul Lee and Allein Maliksi scored 18 points each, Peter Jun Simon called off for great 15-point while Justin Meltion and rookie Gio Jalalon notched 11 points in a great show performed by Hotshops.

The Hotshots almost led by as much as 53 in the clash against Phoenix, notching from all possible basket. However, Samboy de Leon did not register any basket and Javier managed to hit 1 basket. According to Paul Lee, the team has now started to synchronize well with each other and believes the chemistry between the team has started to propel.
