NCAA Volleyball, Lyceum wants Mapua to be winless

Lyceum of the Philippines University looks to ride the big win momentum of entering Final 4 round when it clashes struggling winless Mapua Institute of Technology in NCAA Season 91 Women’s Volleyball Tournament on Wednesday at the Arena in San Juan.

The 3rd win for Lyceum came handy as the Lady Pirates amazed defending champion De La Salle-College of St. Benilde (CSB), 25-22, 24-26, 25-18, 20-25, 15-10, last week to mark 3-1.

Emil Lonton, the coach of LPU said –

We’re working especially hard on our defense because we know we will not get that far without it,”

“All we want is respect, and that’s why we work and play hard,” he added

Maven Cherilyn Sindayen came as a blessing for Lyceum who scored 14 points per game on an average. While, Czarina Pauline Orros and LaRainne Fabay are doing their parts in pushing the lead by holding 10 points per game on an average.

Mapua on the other hand is winless in NCAA Season 91 and Lady Pirates are favored the win. All five assignments handed to Lady Cardinals went scoreless in the season. If Lyceum could win over Mapua, the team will have a share of the third spot parallel to Arellano University (4-1)

Unbeaten San Sebastian College (6-0) and CSB (5-1) are currently at the top spots in the league standings.

The action between Lyceum and Mapua begins at 10:00 A.M on Wednesday at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan City.
