Ray Parks drops 41 as Alab disappoints Kaohsiung Truth

As expected Ray Parks once again led Alab Pilipinas to notch its back-to-back win against Kaohsiung Truth, 93-87 on Sunday in the Asean Basketball League at the Olivarez College gym in Paranaque City.

Bobby Ray Parks Jr. refused to go upstage in his hometown so he worked hard right from the tip-off, scoring season-high points with 14 rebounds and 2 assist. Parks set up a steady pace in Alab Pilipinas to get teams second straight right from the start till Kaohsiung was over at 87.

Ray performed high last week brilliantly notching 30-points for Alab with 14 rebounds which beat Kaohsiung, 91-82 in Baliwag, Bulacan.

Player of the Week awardee, Ray Parks said

“No one knew me here before,”

“I played in side streets against all sorts of people here and I know those times helped me grown into the player I am today. Now, it’s good to hear the crowd cheering for me and chanting my name. It’s heart-warming because I’m doing this to represent them.”

Alab is currently at the third place with 2-1 (win-loss) record behind unbeaten Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions (4-0) and opening-round tormentor Singapore Slingers (3-1).

Kaohsiung, on the other hand had a new heritage Raymar Jose from Former Far Eastern University but could not help much especially when the team needed him the most after fouling out with less than five minutes left.

Jose could only crack 12 points and 7 rebounds for Truth, along with 4 points and 8 assists from his Filipino member Achie Inigo.
