Rosario under pressure to play beside Castro, de Ocampo

 

Troy Rosario tallied 26 establishing a hard-to-break defense against Alaska Aces to grab a share of second spot in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

TNT stopped Alaska Aces, 109-100 while  Rosario remained the man for TNT scoring solid 26 out of which 16 came in the first half. He also added 7 rebounds for TNT’s 4th win. Jayson Castro and Larry Fonacier notched 16 point each, while Ranidel De Ocampo scored 10. Rosario totally emulated the work ethics of these two mavens while playing.

Rosario, a comparatively new player played under pressure beside Castro and De Ocampo. After the win, Rosario said –

“I’m really pressured, especially when we’re on the court together. You must know what they’re doing because they’re better at reading the plays and have been in the league longer, so they really know what they’re doing.”

“I watch what they’re doing in practice and why they’re doing that. That’s where I improve my game,” he added.

The former National University standout went high on the game notching 6-of-9 from three to top his side with 25 points and 6 rebounds to improve TNT’s place in PBA. Rosario is also hopeful that TNT could build on this stretch while moving towards 2017.

On the other hand, the Aces dropped back to .500 with a 3-3 mark, while Calvin Abueva led Alaska with a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds. Vic Manuel and Kevin Racal added 30 points combining for Aces.
