KaTropa ends losing streak, trashes Floodbuster


After losing their two games in a row, finally TNT KaTropa is back on winning track that trashed Mahindra Floobuster with a 104-92 decision in the PBA Philippines Cup at the Cuneta Astrodome on Wednesday.

TNT scored a 10-point lead in the 1st quarter, but soon faced a tough challenge offered by resurgent Floobuster that headed with 6 point advantage in the halftime break, but later lost the steam and never matched with TNT’s attack.

KaTropa entered this year’s PBA with a two massive loss, however defeating the Floobuster, TNT finally kick started their winning streak.

TNT took the lead in the 3rd quarter with Troy Rosario, Moala Tautuaa and Roger Pogoy combining ended with 82-78 at the end of the quarter.

Rosario led the team with 18 points and 9 rebounds, while Roger Pogoy smashed 16 points, 4 assists and 4 steals for TNT that improved to 5-4 in the current team standings. Mo Tautuaa added 14 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block for TNT.

Happy with the performance, the head coach Nash Racela said –

“I see my players finding ways to play together and deliver a positive outing for us. I know it’s a process but I’m hoping that it takes us to the right direction,”

“The earlier they accept that reality, it’ll be better for our team overall,” he added.

Allex Mallari led the Floodbuster with a game-high 19 markers, while Paniamogan added 10 points.

Head coach Nash Racela and the team will take on the GlobalPort Batang Pier on January 25 (Wednesday) at the same venue.
