Teodoro snags 20 point as JRU beats Blustar Detergent

 

The longest NCAA Champions, JRU Heavy Bombers are paving way in the PBA D-League with overwhelming Blustar Detergent 75-64 Tuesday in the 2017 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

With just 42.0 seconds remaining, Tey Teodoro played hottest by racking up 8 straight markers to top the tournament, 73-60. The Heavy Bombers guard snipped 20 points on a 4-of-7 shooting from 3, with seven rebounds for JRU.

Coach Vergel Menses said –

“We had a bad started. I told them in the huddle I’m sure they’re going to adjust after their first game. And my team gave Blustar confidence,”

For Dragons, Alvin Vui Hang Ang played heroic in the game, firing high to match the deficit of 61-60 with 4 minutes remaining, however Teodoro took charge and helped JRU to move to next level.

Jhaps Bautista added 18 markers on a 4-6 shooting from 3, to go with six rebounds and four assists off the bench for JRU.

In spite of bringing home the win, coach expressed his holdovers to step up as Heavy Bombers starts its training for NCAA Season 93.

“They should be the leaders of the team because whatever they’re showing i the D-League, it will follow,” he said.

Ang topped Blustar with 15 points, four rebounds, and four assists, while Liaw Chee Huei got 14 markers and seven boards.
