Valdez goes overseas, joins Thai Club 3BB Nakornnont

UAAP volleyball MVP Alyssa Valdez recently confirmed that she is playing in an upcoming Thailand Volleyball league. 4 other players from Philippine that got this opportunity are Superliga stars Jaja Santiago of Foton, Kim Fajardo and Aby Maraño of F2 Logistics and Jovelyn Gonzaga of RC Cola-Army.

Valdez in a statement said –

“I am very excited about this and hope that this opens doors for more Filipino volleyball players to get the chance to play overseas. This is a blessing that has been very timely as we celebrate the Christmas season,”

The 23-year-old former Ateneo star spiker has dreamt of playing and shining at international meets, that way she is thankful to Thai Club 3BB Nakornnot in which she will start practicing in two weeks.

“I thank 3BB Nakornnont for giving me the opportunity to join them next year,” “We are still threshing out details as of now, but I will be flying to Thailand on Jan. 15 to begin preparing for a tournament starting Jan. 29.”

To play in Thai-Denmark Super League, PSL president Ramon “Tats” Suzara is in conversation with Thai Volley ball association to help facilitate what is around the corner for “importation” of Filipino aboard.

“They want to acquire four of our stars,” said Suzara.

According to Suzara, Santiago and Fajardo are not available for the international league as their duties towards National University and La Salle, respectively in the UAAP are higher.

3BB Nakornnont is based in Nonthaburi, Thailand and is the same club where Som Kuthaison and Nic Jaisaen play-Thais who were recently playing along with Valdez at Customs in the V-League Reinforced Conference.
