Jordan Clarkson is rumored to be traded

Are the Lakers ready to part ways with Jordan Clarkson ?

The Los Angeles Lakers will wait for another year just to create a competitive roster after they fail to land some of the best free agents.

In one of the NBA rumors, the Lakers are willing to trade Jordan Clarkson just to free up more cap space. Though Clarkson is one of the most reliable players last season by averaging 14.2 points in 29.2 minutes of playing time, the Lakers are confident they move him.

Last season, Jordan Clarkson signed a 4 year / $50,000,000 contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, including $50,000,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $12,500,000. In 2017-18, Clarkson will earn a base salary of $11,562,500, while carrying a cap hit of $11,562,500 and a dead cap value of $37,500,000 according to Spotract.

Without a doubt, the Lakers will have enough cap room to avail some of the free agents next season like Paul George who expressed his intention of playing in LA. LeBron James is also one of the costly free agents in 2018 that would probably jump to play in purple and gold.

According to Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report, Clarkson is someone the Lakers would be willing to move if it means making more cap space. Not only are they willing to do it, they are confident that it can happen.

One person within the organization who isn’t permitted to speak publicly on the subject told Bleacher Report the team is confident it can move Clarkson if needed to open space.

In the coming season, the Lakers will have a shot in going into the playoffs with the current roster.

I don’t necessarily think that LeBron will be a good fit. He is more of an opportunist, jumping from team to team seeking for more rings. See what happens in Miami and what he is doing to the Cavs. If you truly plan to develop Ball and the team, then keep LeBron out of it.

I truly agree with Jerry… Only great players earn their rings with one team. Michael with the Bulls, Magic with the LAKERS, Bird with the Celtics, and KOBE with the LAKERS.
Lakers should try to land both R. Westbrook, and P. George…
