Julian Edelman out for the rest of the season

The New Engaland Patriots have confirmed that Julian Edelman will missed the entire season after an ACL tear on his right knee two minutes into the game last Friday against Detroit.

Julian Edelman is feared incur a tore right ACL in a non-contact injury just two minutes into the game against the Detroit Lions, according to reports.

While nobody knows Edelman’s extent of the injury, the team fears that it is an ACL tear. Edelman is schedule to take an MRI on Saturday to find out the severity of the injury.

Even quarterback Tom Brady is eagerly hoping that the result would be negative.

“We’ll see what the extent is,” said Brady, who has played eight seasons with Edelman. “We’re all hoping for the best. It’s tough any time a teammate goes down. We’ve all been playing long enough where, when someone does, other people have to step in and fill the void.

“Hopefully that’s not the case, but, you know, we’ll figure it out tomorrow.”

Edelman got the injury less than two minutes into Friday’s game against the Lions. He outran linebacker Jarrad Davis in a breaking route and caught the ball at Detroits’ 29-yards line. Edelman then continued until his right foot was planted into the turf at 17 to avoid Tavon Wilson.

After walking off the field by himself limbing, he was brought by cart to the locker room.

While the Patriots have the depth in the wide receivers with Brandin Cooks, Chris Hogan and Danny Amendola, Edelman is the most trusted of them all by Brady.

Even tight end Rob Gronkowski admitted that Edelman cannot be replaced.

“He’s a player you can’t really replace, the way he works, the way he plays out on the field, the way he loves the game and the passion he has,” Gronkowski said. “So we’re just hoping for the best.”
